I started practising yoga over 15 years ago and like many people, I started initially to improve my flexibility and to wind down after work. Yoga helped me to relax and unwind from my corporate job and calmed my busy mind. Over the years I have practiced different styles of yoga including Iyengar, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow.
I initially trained as a yoga teacher in 2011 and completed my 500 hour qualification in 2016 with Jason Crandell. I continue to attend classes, workshops and further training to inspire and develop my teaching.
I am also a certified Somatic Movement Coach. Somatic Movement Education was developed by Thomas Hanna, PhD to help relieve muscular tension. It works by using gentle, slow, mindful movement to help awaken and release muscles which may have become ‘stuck’ and tense through previous trauma or injury.
Chillout Yoga incorporates gentle postures, mindful somatic movement and breath and body awareness to help relieve tension in the body and calm the mind.
