Each session begins with a relaxation for the parents and we then focus on a different area of the infant's body. We will cover a full body massage and I will demonstrate a Colic Routine which can help to ease pain associated with wind, constipation and Colic. The massage routine is a combination of stimulating and relaxing strokes, taken from the principles of Swedish and Indian massage and some gentle yoga moves. There will be time for discussion after each class and the aim is to spend some quality time bonding with your child by using a combination of gentle moves, loving, nurturing touch and singing soothing lullabies.
The classes are very relaxed and friendly and it's a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and spend some quality time with your baby. Families with children from newborn to 1 year are welcome and we also discuss how we can adapt the massage for the growing child, from active crawler up to to teenage years.
Mats are provided but please bring a cushion if you need it as we sit on the floor. Please also bring a towel for your baby. I provide organic, cold pressed massage oils and handouts with all of the strokes so that you can practise at home.
Classes run over 5 consecutive weeks and last around an hour but are very baby-led.
