Introductory Lacto-fermentation Workshops
Lacto -fermentation is the ancient are of preserving food and has gained popularity recently due to its benefits for gut health. Join us at the centre this summer for a series of two-hour taster sessions to learn about the process and gain some hands on experience creating ferments.
Intro to fermented fruit and veg - Saturday August 12th 2-4pm
An in-depth introduction to the theory of lactic fermentation techniques and learn how to make sauerkraut, kimchi and other fruit and vegetable ferments as well as discover new ways to incorporate these foods into everyday meals. You will leave this session with ferments to take home, as well as recipes and the knowledge to experiment further.
Please bring your own 1-2L preserving jars; however, the cost of other ingredients is included in the course.
Intro to fermented drinks - Saturday August 26th 2-4pm
Cost - £32
Learn to make fermented soft drinks such as kombucha. water kefir and kvass. As well as learning the basic principles you will take away ferments to continue at home, recipes and learn how to combine ingredients to make interesting and delicious flavour combinations.
Please bring your own 1-2L Preserving jars. The cost of the ingredients is included.
