During the Lockdown period I am available for teaching 1:1 Pilates classes online, and looking forward to running regular online group classes in the near future.


I first took up Pilates in 2003 following a back injury, and after experiencing the benefits of Pilates for myself I began training as an instructor at the central London YMCA; qualifying as a Stott Pilates instructor. I teach Pilates matwork, using small pieces of equipment (soft balls, bands, fitness circles) - and help clients improve their posture, strengthen their back and abdominal muscles, and increase their flexibility by guiding them through a series of exercises which focus on stabilising the central core. 

Don't forget that Pilates is for men too - and many men who have ongoing back issues, or very tight hamstrings, or just find they can no longer fit sport into their schedule - find Pilates classes can be very beneficial.

My philosophy for Pilates is that "it's not a competition"! You are the only person in the class working with the physical limitations of your own body (and any injury you might have), and so don't compare yourself to others, just focus on your own progress.

I am also a practicing acupuncturist, and am convinced of the mental and emotional advantages of regular exercise, as well as the physical benefits it brings.

I am teaching 3 classes on Tuesday evenings at the Sunflower Centre at 6.30-7.30 pm, 7.30-8.30 pm and 8.30-9.30 pm. These are blocks of 6-7 weeks and are payable in advance.
