Ann Ballard

After a long career in education and the arts, I trained to teach yoga with Vanda Scaravelli-inspired teachers in the nineties. I teach yoga privately, having taught yoga at Greenwich Dance Agency for many years, through a gentle and exploratory approach, grounding and releasing with the breath.

When I first discovered Pilates it seemed to combine all my past movement experiences into a gentle but stimulating new challenge that dovetailed beautifully with my yoga training. Through my movement experience, I have seen the benefits that a connection between the body, mind, and breath can bring. I love the feeling of well-being, strength, flexibility, and balance that Pilates gives to me, and I am enthusiastic to share this with others.

In 2002, I trained as a Pilates teacher at Trinity Laban in matwork and studio practice. I taught the adult Pilates matwork classes at Trinity Laban and taught in the studio until it closed in 2013. I currently guest lecture on Pilates and the Older Client for the Mindful Pilates Teacher Training Programme.
