Kate Campbell

As a Black female UKCP and AFT registered Family, Systemic and Couple Psychotherapist (MA Systemic Psychotherapy, University of Essex and Tavistock and Portman, 2018) and Trainer, I am passionate about giving a meaningful voice to the lived experiences of marginalised young people, families and communities.

I’m a dynamic, innovative, and experienced clinician, based in South London. I specialise in working systemically with children, adolescents, families, and adults across the NHS, CAMHS, Social Care and Voluntary Sector, inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. I have delivered international therapeutic services to families in Europe, America, Canada, and Asia; and trained multi-disciplinary teams in systemic techniques; supervised Masters and Post Graduate Systemic Psychotherapy and Social Work Students. In addition, I mentor integrative and psychodynamic psychotherapy students.

One of the joys of being a systemic psychotherapist is being able to draw on a range of relational theories and values, depending on what is the best fit for individual or families’ needs. I prioritise Structural, Narrative, and CMM techniques, within different contexts, narratives and creative approaches to help identify or explore difficulties in your family, work or wider relationships.

One of the knock-on effects of the Covid-19 global pandemic has been the rise in young people and families who may be struggling with unhelpful and stuck communication patterns. Together, we co-create to bring new meaning to your more problematic relationships.

With over twenty-five years of expertise in managing, supervision, training, and consultations with individuals, families, students, networks, and teams. In summary, I specialise in work around:-

-Eating Disorders

-Gender-Based Violence

-Health, Disability, and Long Term Health Conditions

-Looked After and Adopted Children (LAAC)

-Migrant, Refugee, and Asylum Seekers

My post-qualifying training includes Advanced Tree of Life (Ncazelo Ncube-Mlilo, 2018), NVR, DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy), Kim Golding, 2019), EFT (Emotional Focussed Therapy – Couples, Individuals and Families) with Gulya Diuarova (2021)

During the pandemic, I became an Emotional Wellbeing Specialist for Project 5 (an NHS Emotional Wellbeing Hub); and a Student mentor on the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN) Each One Teach One Program and External Assessor, Trainer and Marker on various postgraduate social work and systemic psychotherapy programmes. Furthermore, I am a member of the International Family Therapy Association and CMM Institute. I am a member of BAATN and a published author.
